We camped here the first May Bank holiday this year (2009).
Overall we really loved this site. The views are simply incredible, the location is pretty perfect and the owner is simply lovely.
Location - halfway up towards 'Lord Hereford's knob' not far from Hay-On-Wye. The field is remarkably flat given the location. The location is perfect for walking or cycling.
Views. You camp looking away from the mountain over a huge flat valley which gives the most beautiful sunset views.
Owner - he is there to greet you on arrival and tells you where everything is.
So, what's wrong with it? Nothing really, but the toilet block might leave a little to be desired if you are more into 'glamourous camping'. Washing up facilities are basic (cold water only, not idea). One other thing of note is that the site is used most weekends by duke of edinburgh kids. They were perfectly well behaved when we were there, but you've been warned.
Pub - there is a pub in the nearby village. It's really not that far, but it might be a little tricky at night.
Dogs - the site is very dog friendly. We really enjoyed it with ours.
Supermarket - Hay is about 7 miles away. Through Hay on the other side of the small town is a Co-Op. Hay is well worth a visit anyway, especially for the Hay Literary festival.
Overall we recommend this site
